Africa Tabernacle Evangelism
The Story of "Co-Demma" Church
Pastor Charles KASONGO
Binza-Meteo, Kinshasa

Last year a mid-November storm ripped off the roof of the Co-Demma Church leaving the congregation exposed to sun and rain for more then three months. Pastor Kasongo made an appeal to the national church leadership and Tabernacle Evangelism was able to step in and make the difference for this church. On February 23 we put up a tabernacle on what seemed to be just an empty lot with only a small office building still intact. The church celebrated the event with an evangelistic meeting that they had been preparing for for about a week, informing the community of what was taking place. For a church that was used to an average crowd of about 150 on Sundays, it was wonderful for them to see more than 300 in attendance at that meeting! Pastor Kasongo told us that about 20 came to the Lord that night.

Several months later they found that they were beginning to outgrow the original tabernacle we had put up. People were having to sit in the sun again because there was no more room under the roof. So they added another 30 feet to the roof and have also started laying the foundation to build the rest of the building. The congregation is consistently running more than 250 members on Sundays and is extremely grateful for what Tabernacle Evangelism has done for them because they were without a roof for so many months.

Quote
"It's not like it was anymore. Many of the churches who have now received tabernacles had no roofs over their heads. They were under tarps and sheets of plastic. In many ways they were covered in shame. Now people are talking about the A/G here! It gives the image of a good work!"
